They're Back..... (Tuesday's Truths WK 188)

"Chives" (a greeting card that goes beyond communication) |
"Never say never," the saying goes, and I suppose that applies to saying, "I no longer....," which I did in my 2018 addendum to a number of my posts here on Blogger, where I proclaimed, "I no longer actively produce event program covers, invitations, and the types of greeting cards described here or on my website but arrangements might be able to be made under certain circumstances. My focus is on the 'Words In Our Beak' book series."

WORDS IN OUR BEAK BOOK SERIES |
For today, in my 188th segment of Tuesday's Truths, I'm here to announce that at the advice and action of Chris Deatherage (CD), my book series (Words In Our Beak) formatter, who is also my web-master (for patriciayoungquist.com; I now have some versions of the all occasion greeting cards that are referenced in many blog posts where I initially put my 2018 addendum available via Fine Art America (FAA), because CD has uploaded them to that location.
A picture of one of the aforementioned cards (known as "Chives") can be seen atop this entry, and it is also an item I've discussed in a few prior posts here on Blogger.

CD WEARING MY CARDINAL THEMED FACE-MASK |
The pictures atop this entry feature Chris Deatherage modeling two of the face-masks from my collection. The first image shows him wearing a mask whose design is based on, Good Friends, one of my black and white impressionistic photographs (that is available printed on an array of surfaces for wall art from Fine Art America AKA FAA) while the second one features him wearing my Northern cardinal themed face-mask.

Session Twenty-Nine of #ClapBecauseWeCare (And Face Mask Info)
The face mask that I've been using (which can be seen in the photograph directly above, an image that you might recognize from a prior entry here on Blogger ) does not provide a tight enough fit, leaving extra space around the mask which sort of defeats the purpose of wearing a mask.

It was suggested to me (by a banker) that I create a book bag for my three volume book series, Words In Our Beak.

The interview can be heard on my web-site, which was designed by Chris.

Chris (CD) has done an excellent job in designing my web-site and up loading my images up to FAA. His name is familiar to many because he is also the one who edited and formatted my hardcover versions of Words In Our Beak. Bravo, CD! Bravo! And thanks again!

Today's the Octave of Easter for 2019 (Coinciding with a photographer holiday)
![]() |
Today is the Octave of Easter for 2019. This year it coincides with Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day (WPP Day) which is an unofficial holiday that has always been observed the last Sunday in April. A holiday-themed web-page explains that WPP Day aims "to encourage people to pick up pinhole photography as a hobby and profession, and to share their techniques and pictures with the pinhole photography community."
I must confess that while I'm very familiar with the celebrations surrounding the Octave of Easter, I had not heard of WPP Day. It is somewhat odd that I had no idea about this event. The main reason that any lack of knowedge re this occasion is odd is because for a few years I worked with various pin-hole cameras — and created a number of black and white photographs from them — which I developed and printed myself.
My entire Black and White Collection has been included in gallery exhibitions in Manhattan. One of those images is titled, Thanksgiving In Riverdale (a copy of it can be seen in the image below).

MY BOOK SERIES |
The goal of these books is to open readers to a simple understanding of the winged world and their environment. Set in a rooftop urban garden (mine) in New York City, my story is told in the voice of Cam, a female cardinal, who visits it. These books are directed to children and adults who are curious about birds (as well as gardening) want to learn about these topics from a unique perspective.

The Influence of Georges Seurat (d 3-29-1891)
![]() |
FEATURED IN MY WEBSITE'S B & W GALLERY |
The image of my photographic print, Sophia, atop this entry is one from a collection of my black and white photographs featured on my website.*
Sophia appeared in a couple of my exhibitions in NYC and was one of my pictures that was ultimately discussed on a radio program (The Al Lewis Show) for WBAI hosted by Karen Ingenthorn Lewis.
The image was printed by me using a technique I developed at the inspiration of Georges Seurat, who is known for devising the painting techniques known as chromoluminarism and pointillism.

Saturday (Yesterday) In The Park
"Another day in the park... Everyday is the Fourth of July," are lyric lines from the song "Saturday in the Park," by the rock band, Chicago. I have quoted the song in prior posts here on Blogger when I've published an entry re my spending a Saturday in the Park, which is something I did yesterday.
I went to Central Park to see if turtles were coming out of hibernation on the third day after the official onset of spring in our hemisphere. There were only a couple of turtles swimming (such as the one seen in the image posted above) in Turtle Pond, which means many of them are still hibernating under the water; for usually that pond is oversubscribed with this type of creature.

Soon it will be Valentine's Day!
In less than three weeks time, it will be Valentine's Day and what a great excuse to send someone a card through snail mail; but since it truly does tend to be snail, it's not too early to start getting cards for the special people in your life.
Valentine's Day isn't just for couples. It's also an occasion to show friends, family, and other special people how much they're loved.
As of yesterday, Chris Deatherage uploaded eight of my bird-themed photographs (that include house finches, Mourning doves, blue jays and Northern cardinals) to my collections on Fine Art America (FAA).

Since it is also the last day of 2018, here's an entry looking back over the year that is ending and looking forward to a new one beginning. As you can see from the cartoon (by Charles Schultz), atop this entry, Linus is doing the same thing.

Last Thursday's Walk in The Park
![]() | |
|
This past Thursday (12-20), I had an early afternoon appointment with my GP re a recent medical complication; but beforehand, in the late morning I took a walk with MLT in Central Park, to show her the now famous (at least in NYC) Mandarin duck who can be seen in the image above, swimming in The Pond near Fifth Avenue.

More News Re 12/12/2018
Earlier today, I published an entry here on Blogger re the fact that today is Connie Francis's eightieth birthday and in it I discussed my association with one of her songs.
Now I'm "reporting" some other news re today's date. As many of followers of this blog might recall, I have four separate eye conditions: Keratoconus, Monocular vision, Optic atrophy, and Staphyloma.
This means I only have "counting fingers vision" in my left eye and only see out of my right with corrective eye glasses, adaptive computer equipment, and long camera lenses.
Today, 12/12/2018, I have an appointment (noted in the screen shot atop this post) to check on the status of my situation and am anticipating a good prognosis, but it's been a very hard year, enduring eye procedures from January-September.
Still, with Chris Deatherage's (CD) encouragement as well as his editing/formatting skills, I was able to complete and publish my book series, Words In Our Beak.

56 Yr Old Peanuts Strip Speaks to me Today!
CONFESSION: I'm a hunt and peck typist which slowed me down in writing my three volume book series, Words In Our Beak. If only I'd known Snoopy could type (as evidenced by the PEANUTS comic strip which is included with this posting and was published on this day of December 2nd in 1962); I might've asked him!

By the way, the photo atop this posting is a very partial of The Adler Study, the room where my event is to take place.
