WORDS IN OUR BEAK, VOLUME THREE is now available in a hardcover print edition from Ingram Book Group.

New York, NY — November 1, 2018: Celebrate the Year of the Bird* one more time with Words In our Beak, Volume Three ! The WORDS IN OUR BEAK series is brought to a conclusion with the publication of Volume Three. Cam, the friendly and astute female cardinal narrator, picks up from the end of Volume Two and makes good on all her promises. First, she teaches us the how and why of winterizing an urban garden, and then she introduces us to the other bird types who have visited the urban garden that she calls home. In this final volume, Cam also touches upon the importance for birds to be camou¬flaged from predators and gossips with her avian cousins around the birdfeeders. Visit one last time with Cam as she chronicles the habits of her avian community, what it is like to spend time in this special urban garden, and why — for all the hazards to bird life and garden greenery — New York City is still the place to live.

*2018 marks the centennial of the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, and from January 1st through December 31st, over 100 organizations—including the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, BirdLife International, the National Audubon Society, and National Geographic—are promoting a full “Year of the Bird” using storytelling and science to build awareness about the wonder and beauty of birds and how they are affected by changes to their environment.
