Blue eyelids... Baby's got blue eyelids... (Along With Other Great Features)

Atop this entry are a few photographs of mourning doves spending time in my rooftop garden. As you can see, their eyelids are blue. This fact has often caused me to put a spin on an Elton John song ("Blue Eyes"), where part of the lyrics are:

"Blue eyes

Baby's got blue eyes

Like a deep blue sea

On a blue blue day..."

Only when I see the mourning doves, I sing:

"Blue eye lids,

Baby's got blue eye lids

Like a deep blue sea

On a blue blue day..."

The fact that this bird type has blue eyelids is just one of their many fascinating features.

Friday's Fact: Birdie's got blue eyelids!

The entertainer Elton John sang a song in which the lyrics included, "Blue eyes. Blue eyes. Baby's got blue eyes" and — as I've mentioned over the years on social media including prior posts within this blog— I often think of those lyrics when Mourning doves visit my garden, as was the case yesterday.

Upon seeing a couple of them (who are featured in the photo-ops atop this entry),  I found myself once again putting a spin on Elton John as I sang softly to this creature, "Blue eye lids. Blue eye lids. Birdie's got blue eye lids." 

Mourning doves are so inspiring on many levels.

Saturday Night's Alright for Clapping/Cheering (A Briefing on Session 47)

As many of you may know, in compliance with our mayor and governor's wishes during this coronavirus pandemic, I have been sheltering in place (since the evening of 3/21/2020), and only leaving my apartment building on a handful occasions to do essential errands and keep medical appointments that could not be done via tele-med.

On one of those occasions, I saw a sign posted under some scaffolding in my hood and it can be seen in the photo atop this posting.

Saturday Night's alright for a.... #ClapBecauseWeCare Session

Elton John has said (in a hit song), "Saturday Night's alright for fighting..."

BUT it's also alright for participating in a #ClapBecauseWeCare Session as you might surmise upon seeing photographs that I took of the tribute just a little over three hours ago. The one atop this entry is of Julie Tersigni.

Saturday night's alright for posting?

Today I got delayed  due to preparing for upcoming meetings so this entry will be short. First let me say, I have been posting on this blog for nearly nine years and I've never published an entry on a Saturday night! Since that is what I'm doing now, I hope Saturday night's alright for posting which makes me think of Elton John's song, Saturday Night, and in honor of the fact, I've posted a You Tube Video featuring it atop this entry.

In any event, earlier today while in Central Park, I came upon numerous (probably hundreds) of turtles in Turtle Pond.
