Friday's Follow-Up #ClapBecauseWeCare Sessions 51+ 52

A #CLAPBECAUSEWECAREPARTICIPANT

I'm bit behind in my coverage of the #ClapBecauseWeCare sessions that I've been participating in since March 30, 2020. These tributes are a small way to honor our first responders, health care professionals and essential workers who are keeping us safe during this COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. I joined in on March 29th, two days after the onset of the event and have been posting content about each one of them.

This morning's blog entry covers sessions that took place on Wednesday May 20th, as well as  Thursday (last night) May 22nd, and the photo atop this entry is from the May 20th session.

The 12th Night of Clapping and Cheering

About an hour and fifteen minutes ago, I participated in the twelfth session of the nightly 7:00 PM clapping/cheering event (that has been dubbed #ClapBecauseWeCare) causing me to think of it as "The Twelfth Night."

As I've been saying in recent posts here on Blogger, this event honors first responders and healthcare workers who are keeping New Yorkers as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic. Many people participated but I only took a few pictures (which can be seen in the next series of photos) as it is hard to clap and use a DSLR at the same time.

There are no words except to say how grateful I am to participate in this event, which I'm told has lifted the morale of first responders and healthcare workers as well as others who are essential workers and/or of those involved in caring for loved ones.

The Ninth Session

This evening (Saturday April 4th), I participated in the 9th session of the 7PM clapping/cheering nightly event (that has been dubbed #ClapBecauseWeCare). As I've been saying in recent posts here on Blogger, this event honors first responders and healthcare workers who are keeping New Yorkers as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic.

Many people participated but I only took a few pictures as it is hard to clap and use a DSLR at the same time. The photos featured at the top of this entry are of a woman who lives in a building across the courtyard (and slightly west).

Her frying-pan "instrument" reminded me of a photo I have my dad playing the same type of instrument (left) when he was a child (which is a picture I've featured in prior entries here on Blogger including one that may be read by clicking here).
