Last Thursday's Walk in The Park

This past Thursday (12-20), I had an early afternoon appointment with my GP re a recent medical complication; but beforehand, in the late morning I took a walk with MLT in Central Park, to show her the now famous (at least in NYC) Mandarin duck who can be seen in the image above, swimming in The Pond near Fifth Avenue.

I had gotten a notification from Manhattan Bird Alert that he had been spotted in there and MLT had never seen this bird. When we got there, the Mandarin was no where to be found, but we did see other birds, including a silly goose who can be seen in the following photos.

Canadian geese (like this one is ) are featured in volume two of my book series, Words In Our Beak...

... as seen in the picture directly below, which was taken by Chris Deatherage, the editor and formatter of my series.

The books make a nice gift for Christmas (which is the days after tomorrow), and since that celebration is for a season (ending on Epiphany, or Twelfth Night), you still have time to get them in the event you celebrate the feasts following this holiday.

Or perhaps you celebrate Kwanza? That celebration begins 12-26 and lasts eight days. Then again in my hmo, these books make perfect gifts for any day!
