This past Monday, here in
NYC, we had a nor'easter (which I wrote about in a recent
post here on Blogger). Now, six days later wet, heavy snow has been falling since early morning but this did not deter avian creatures from visiting my place, as evidenced in the photos atop this entry.
Birds are wise, they know the wisdom from the song
"Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head'' particularly the lines "
Raindrops keep falling on my head, But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turning red, Crying's not for me, 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complaining..."For indeed, inspite of the wet snowflakes that were falling on the heads of my visiting birds, they still enjoyed a Sunday brunch in on my roof extension garden.
As you may know, my garden is the setting for my three volume hard-cover book series, Words In Our Beak (AKA WIOB) ...
...and
House sparrows as well as
Mourning doves (the bird types seen here) are among the many birds whose stories are included. They also make a perfect gift for someone who may be in quarantine or lockdown due to consequences of the
coronavirus because the stories in them can bring the outdoors into the homes of those who cannot go out and about. However, these books are also nice to give to as a
Valentine's Day gift to love birds who love birds.
