During last week's snowstorm, a young
Blue jay visited the
Smoke Bush which I have in
my garden. From the vantage point of that shrub's branches, this bird seemed to be giving a wide-eyed look, as seen in the images atop this entry.
This is something cats and dogs also do when they want something to eat)....
It's a look I find hard to resist and I want to oblige so I was most thankful to still have seed (from the generous MFH and her husband RH) at my disposal.
My having birds seed and/or suet cakes on hand not always the case these days.
This is mainly due to the fact that one of the consequences of the
coronavirus pandemic disrupted my receiving bird seed and suet cakes (from a well known company) which I used to get in exchange for me writing about their products.
On another note and as you may know, Blue jays are featured in the last volume of my three volume hard-cover book series,
Words In Our Beak, and since birding has grown more popular during the coronavirus, these books are great to have on hand for those who can't go out and about.
Moreover, if you are one who appreciates Blue jays, you might be interested to know I have had a couple of my images of them rendered on to cards (by Fine Art America AKA FAA). They can be seen in the images below.
