My Personal #ClapBecauseWeCare's Three Month Anniversary was Monday 6/29/2020. (Tuesday's Truths WK 186 )

6/29/2020 GIUSEPPE + TERESA'S LAST NIGHT AT #CLAPBECAUSEWECARE
6/29/2020 GIUSEPPE'S LAST NIGHT AT #CLAPBECAUSEWECARE

I'd like to begin this entry by saying that three months ago this past Saturday (June 27th 2020) marked the date #ClapBecauseWeCare sessions began (3/27/2020) in NYC. I initially learned about the tribute a few days after the fact and subsequently began participating on a nightly basis two days later on March 29th, 2020, so my three month anniversary of doing this was yesterday, June 29, 2020, which was the 91st session, for many participants and number 89 for me.

As I've been discussing the sessions within a number of posts here on Blogger, my participation and cyber "coverage" of these tributes is a small way to pay homage to first responders, healthcare professionals and essential workers who are keep working tirelessly (through all kinds of weather) for everyone during this COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

During the course of these nightly sessions, I've become aquatinted with a few people I'd never met, such as Giuseppe and Teresa, seen in the images atop this entry, which were taken on the evening of 6-29-2020.

As I've mentioned in prior posts, Giuseppe and Teresa have been staying in the building directly east of me and I initially met them on April 7th, 2020, when I participated in my eleventh session, and after the session on that evening, Giuseppe — through his window which faces my garden where I was standing — introduced himself.

At that time I learned he and his wife are in a short term rental as they are here from Italy and Spain. I've talked with them on nearly a nightly basis since meeting them on April 7th so it is with sadness that I write, unfortunately for me, they will be moving out of their temporary gigs in a few days and going into a place near the Morgan Library. The Morgan Library is in the Murray Hill area of Manhattan so I will still be able to see them from time to time but I will miss their presence; however last night was the last time for me to see them (or their precious cat, Snooze, featured in the next photo) looking out the window of the building directly east of me.

SNOOZE, THE CAT

And while Monday, July 29th, may have been the last night for Giuseppe and Teresa to participate in a session from the vantage point of that window; perhaps thy will do so from their new place, should these sessions continued, but they may not since we are in week two of PHASE TWO and people are out and about catching up on what they have not been able to do during lockdowns.

After all, there was no one at any window of buildings in my midst during tonight's (June 30th) two minute session, although, I did think I heard some clapping and cheering coming from somewhere, time will tell if any tributes continue.

However, rather the appreciation sessions continue, folks MUST, in the days ahead (and for an unspecified time to come) must continue to show their appreciation for all that was done (by our first responders, healthcare professionals, and essential workers during the heights of the pandemic); and the BEST way to do this is to be reverent in wearing a face-mask.

As, you may recall, I have created designs that have been printed on face-masks by the sister company of Fine Art America.

One style features a dragonfly themed mask, seen in the picture directly below....

... and another one features one of my black and white impressionistic photographs...

... while another mask as well as one of my kaleidoscopic images.

Lastly, one of my masks features an image of a pair of Northern cardinals who frequently visited my rooftop garden; these cardinals are featured in my book series, Words In Our Beak.

My cardinal-themed mask can be seen worn by individuals in the next sequence of photo-ops.

More info on these masks can be found within my press release. Now that a number of  parts of my country are in different stages of re-opening, the wearing of face-masks will be mandatory in many circumstances and as I've said complying with wearing a face-mask is truly the best way to show their appreciation for all that was done (by our first responders, healthcare professionals, and essential workers during the heights of the pandemic).
