Up on the Roof! (Another Friday Follow-Up)

While it's true that I'm beyond grateful to say — as this year winds down — to have completed volume three of my book series, Words In Our Beak, the year has been very hard finically and health wise. But last night, I heeded the wisdom found in the following first stanza of a James Taylor song...

(When this old world starts a getting me down
And people are just too much for me to face
I'll climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space
On the roof, it's peaceful as can be)

... and went up on the roof of my building. For indeed it was peaceful "up on roof" the last night, which is something you might surmise from seeing the pictures atop this entry of yours truly dressed in many layers.

It is the sixth stanza (below) of the Taylor tune sort of summed up last evening...

(That right smack dab in the middle of town
I found a paradise that's trouble proof
And if this old world starts a getting you down
There's room enough for two, up on the roof)

...because there was room enough for much more than two and I was joined by JS and MLT, the Christmas tree sellers that I wrote about in last Friday's blog post.

They had come over to see how the Christmas tree looked with lights which they saw from my doorway, as evidenced in the photo below.

From there it was decided we should get a glimpse of the tree from up on the roof and MLT was kind enough to take most of the photo-ops that you see here. (JS took the first photo directly below) of our evening — up on the roof).

As you can see in these images featuring my Christmas tree, the garden has been winterized for the 2018-2019 season.

The job of winterizing the space is quite painstaking but very rewarding. the task of doing this and the rewards (healthy blooming flora in spring, summer and autumn) are featured in volume three of Words In Our Beak. (The purchase info re the series is posted below.)
