Today is truly for the
birds because it's Feed the Birds Day, a holiday that I wrote about in at least one
prior post here on Blogger. In any event, according to an entry on a
garden related web-page (as well as other sources),
"Every February 3rd is known as Feed the Birds Day."
Within the posting of the aforementioned garden-themed web-page, they have included a chart on what various song birds enjoy eating and in honor of this holiday, I've posted a screenshot of it atop this entry.
As for the birds listed within this chart, a number of them have come to my place and they can be sen in the following images (in order of how a given bird type is listed in the chart) where they are nosing in
my rooftop garden.
Feeding the birds deeds the one who feeds them in unexpected ways. I highly recommend it as long as one feeds these creatures properly. By the way, all the birds included in this posting are featured in my book series,
Words In Our Beak, and they make a great
Valentine's Day gift for love birds who love birds (that holiday is only eleven days from now).
