In this past Friday's blog post, I mentioned that a female cardinal was once again spending time in my garden. She is the subject in the photo atop this entry.
Bird re-habber and TLLG blog reader, Amanda Remsberg (AR) upon seeing the aforementioned posting asked, "Have they ever nested in your garden? She looks to be sizing up the options."
I hope AR is right but I'm not sure if enough of my garden is offering enough foliage or blooms at this early date which would make for better nesting, so this cardinal may pass on my location. As some of you know, another female cardinal named Cam, is the narrator of my three volume book series, Words In Our Beak.
MY BOOK SERIES |
The goal of these books is to open readers to a simple understanding of the winged world and their environment. Set in a rooftop urban garden (mine) in New York City, my story is told in the voice of Cam, a female cardinal, who visits it. These books are directed to children and adults who are curious about birds, and want to learn about them from a unique perspective.
Now that almost every person (across the globe) must spend more time at home due to consequences of the coronavirus, my books have proven to be essential in bringing the outdoors indoors. This fact has led me to believe that these books would make a great gift to give to someone in these circumstances as reading is such an amazing activity to do when you have to stay home.
Another thing to do if you are needing to lay low is work on a jigsaw puzzle so I've designed a dozen of them and they are available in two sizes (500 pieces and 1,000 pieces) via Fine Art America (FAA).
Two of the puzzles in my collection, A View From The Tree Tops and Cardinal Love 3, are based on cardinals who have spent time in my roof extension gardnen and/or my building's courtyard. These products can be seen within the next sequnce of pictures.

Addditionally, FAA has also rendered my cardinal-themed images, Cardinal Love 3, on to a note-card.

FAA also has the capacity to render this picture on to an array of surfaces for wall art.
These surfaces include acrylic...

Northern cardinals seem to show how much they care for their spouse by feeding each other as evidenced in my cardinal themed image titled Cardinal Love 2.
This can as seen in the image directly below, which has been rendered on to a greeting card and is available via my shop that's located on Fine Art America's site.

Perhaps this is what is on the mind of this female cardinal during her conversation with a potential mate that took place from atop a railing which surrounds my rooftop garden.
Whatever the case may be in this scenario, Cardinal Love1 when rendered on to a card makes a perfect salutation for the one near and dear to you.
