Yesterday was one of those "rainy day and Mondays" with heavy rainfall throughout the entire day in
NYC.
However, I did NOT, as the song (
"Rainy Days And Mondays") says find myself saying,
"hanging around with nothing to do but frown," because I had a lot of visitors stop by
my garden in spite of the relentless precipitation and travel ban (which is now imposed as a result of the
coronavirus pandemic. These included
Mourning doves and
pigeons who can be seen in the image atop this entry.
There wasn't much social distancing among them as you can see from this picture as well as the next set of photos.
Even though there was little to no social distancing, there was a LOT of singing in the rain off camera (from many
houses sparrows who are not seen in any of these images).
A pair of
blue jays also stopped by as seen below.

BLUE JAYS ARE FEATURED IN MY BOOK SERIES |
All of the birds included in this entry, plus many more are featured in my book series,
Words In Our Beak, where the stories are told from the perspective of a female Northern
cardinal (whose picture is on the cover of each book).
As I've been saying here on Blogger "
During this time where many people are confined to their homes due to lockdown restrictions these books (whose stories are set in my rooftop garden) are great to have around as a reminder that there is still so much beauty in our fallen world."
