Friday's Fact: It's Book Lover's Day!

According to many sources (including Wiki) "Book Lovers Day (aka National Book Lovers Day in the US) is celebrated on August 9 every year. This is an unofficial holiday observed to encourage bibliophiles celebrate reading and literature. People are advised to put away their smartphones and every possible technological distraction and pick up a book to read. Book Lovers Day is widely recognized on global scale yet its origin and creator remains unknown to date."

While I'm glad to know there is a holiday dedicate to book lovers, which I certainly am, and have been since childhood as evidenced by the photograph of yours truly that is atop this posting...

... as well as in the next series of images of me...

... I think every day should be Book Lover's Day!
I love reading them and even though it is very hard work, I love writing them, which is why I was happy to help Cam, the cardinal pictured directly below...

CARDINALS ARE FEATURED IN "WORDS IN OUR BEAK"
... write stories from her perspective and they can be found in the book series, Words In Our Beak.

WORDS IN OUR BEAK BIRD BOOK SERIES

As I mentioned in this past Saturday's blog entry, I reiterated the fact that volume two of the series is dedicated to the memory of my dearly departed friend, Ellen McConnell Blakeman.

The next picture, taken by Ellen's sister in law, Susan McConnell, features Ellen's mother (Bonnie) enjoying this volume.

I'm happy to say that based on the reviews the book series has received (some are on Amazon), people from all walks of life are loving these books and not just on Book Lover's Day!

Moreover, a number of New Yorkers are loving too (as evidenced below)!

If you haven't had a chance to get your copy of any of the volumes of Words In Our Beak, I suggest you use Book Lover's Day as yout excuse to do so!
