Just a quick follow-up for my well wishers re the speaking engagement (about birds and related issues) that I had this past Monday (11-26) at the New York Society for Ethical Culture (NYSEC):
JG, the wonderful man who has been rehearsing my presentation with me for several weeks made himself available for a quick run through of my talk with slide show and to help me schlep some volumes of my Words In Our Beak series to the event, which was beyond helpful, since torrents of rain happened to be falling and I already had to carry my computer and other equipment.
Moreover, he surprised me with a "bouquet" of Paper Whites, which can be seen in the photo atop this entry.
The event had beyond low attendance due to the heavy rain and I'm grateful to those who braved the somewhat severe elements to attend. I'm happy to say my presentation went well and those who came responded positively. The following day I received an email from someone named RC who had this to say:
"Patricia, I want you to know how much I enjoyed your talk last night at the Cultural Center. It was so interesting, and interspersing it with your own story, comments on our society and the life of the birds was meaningful and fascinating. I am glad that you have been on the talking circuit. You looked great!! Aside from all of that, the photography was stunning! Good Luck going forward."
I can use some good going forward and hope to book more presentations and/or sell my books as we wind down this Year of the Bird.
