The 1st time I met a Cairina moschata... (Throwback Thursday)

THIS MUSCOVY DUCK IS FEATURED IN VOL 3

It's September 20th 2018 and last year on this day, I took a walk to the 79th Street Boat Basin and encountered a Muscovy duck (AKA Cairina moschata), a bird type whom I'd never seen before and whose picture can be seen atop this posting.

The following Sunday I wrote about her in an entry here on Blogger. I subsequently learned this bird's name is Jewel and have written about her in subsequent entries here on Blogger.

My first meeting Jewel is on my mind this Throwback Thursday because I plan to include her in the talk (presentation) that I will be giving this November at Manhattan's NYCSE (on the UWS) which is something I announced in my most recent Tuesday's Truths series.

Moreover, the Muscovy duck is featured in the third volume of Words In Our Beak book series and I still hope to have out in this fall.
