I went up to The Wild Bird Fund this afternoon and saw a poem about pigeons taped to a partition. It can be seen in the picture atop this entry. Supposedly the poet wrote it when she was only eight years old. Would love to meet her...
... and I think she'd enjoy my presentations re birds (that I've given at schools including International Academy of New York and Iona Preparatory School; as well as at New York Society for Ethical Culture AKA NYSEC.
In any event, my seeking her poem is somewhat of a confirmation that their is an audience for my message. At this time, there are a couple of people reaching out to schools on my behalf and I surely hope their efforts lead to bookings for me!
Btw, stories about The Wild Bird Fund as well as pigeons are featured in my book series, Words In Our Beak.
