The Day After... Photographs & Musings: Macy's 2016 Thanksgiving Parade Part Two-A

It's the day after Thanksgiving, a day that has long been called Black Friday, which is a topic that I've written about in bygone years here on Blogger. However, within this blog post for the day after Thanksgiving  or Black Friday, I will not be covering that subject. Rather, I will fulfill my promise that I made in yesterday's entry, which was that I would continue my coverage of the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Part of what I state in the aforementioned blog post is that two brand new characters have been rendered into Macy's balloons, and yesterday they made their debut in this venue! Those characters are Trixie the Dog as well as the Dreamworks Trolls. They can be seen (in the images posted atop this entry) making their way down the streets of NYC with trees from near by Central Park as their "back drop.

As you can see the features of Trixie the Dog as well as her tag (top image) are almost as as big as a traffic light! In any event, you can also see that both character balloons are "flew" much lower than usual this year. This often happens during windy connection or near to the starting point of the parade, which is where these pictures were taken.
Over my years in seeing the parade, I've witnessed both low and high "flying" balloons depending on weather conditions that are prevailing during the event. Last year the character Scrat Chasing Acorn made his debut in the parade and he returned this year but was positioned much lower as evidenced in the following photos (respectively).

The first two images of Scrat's details were taken at the parade last year and were included in the ePub version of Cam's book, Words In Our Beak Volume One.

Another newcomer to last year's Macy's Parade and who like Scrat retuned for this year's event is Angry Bird (Red). And also like Scrat, Angry Bird (Red), was positioned much lower than last year, as evidenced in the following photos (respectively).

The first image of Angry Bird (Red)'s details were taken at the parade last year and were also included in the ePub version of Cam's book, Words In Our Beak Volume One.

And the ballon depicting Ronald McDonald's ballon is also featured in the ePub version of Cam's book. He has been in the parade for a number of years and has even received a make-over during his stint as a Macy's Parade participant The following pictures show him as he appeared in bygone years as well as yesterday (respectively).

Another returning character in yesterday's parade, who was positioned much lower than usual, is Hello Kitty. She can be seen below (in a photo taken in bygone years as well as yesterday, respectively).

The top picture of Hello Kitty is also included in the ePub version of Words In Our Beak Volume One, along with some fun facts re how this balloon endangers the lives of birds!

Another ballon that had to move along the parade's route in a much lower position is was the ballon depicting the Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger. This is evidenced in the photos below, taken in 2015 and yesterday (respectively).

This power ranger is also featured in the ePub version of Words In Our Beak Volume One. And also, re the positioning of balloons in bygone years as well as yesterday is Wiggle Worm, had quite a different experience, evidenced in the photos below, respectively.

And, last, but not least, the Macy's elf, known as Charlie, truly had to lower himself in this year's parade! He can be seen in the photo directly below (taken in bygone years), where you see him peering at the crowds from above a lamp-post which is on a street corner. And as you can see, his nose is bigger than one of the bulbs on that lamp-ost!

But this year, Charlie had to make his way down the parade's route in quite a different manner, as evidenced by the image below, where you see him leading his elf-comrades, Kit and CJ. They are all marching far below that same lamp-post!

In any event, Kit and CJ were featured in yesterday's post here on Blogger, however, all three of these Macy's elves are included in the ePub version of Words In Our Beak Volume One. And, dear reader this brings me to the conclusion of part A re my follow-up coverage of yesterday's parade. Stay tuned for part B!
