Friday's Feeling is FROM THE BIRDS

Certain birds are speaking out via a cartoon by Dan Regan (which he did for Shoebox) that something has to be done re the naming of certain birds.

The birds in Regan's illustration are hardly the only avian creatures who feel the name humans have given them needs to be rethought. A seagull variety known as the Laughing Gull (featured in the following images taken at Long Beach) ...

... seems to feel they have a hard time being taken seriously with a name like Laughing Gull.

Moreover, Tufted Titmouses visiting my rooftop garden (pictured below)...

... as well as ones from Central Park (seen in the next set of images)...

agree that something needs to be done about the person responsible for giving birds names such as the ones mentioned in the cartoon as well as for the name they've been given.

Btw, Tufted-titmouses are featured my book series, Words In Our  Beak...

..... and in volume one Cam, the cardinal who narrates the stories (and who is also the cover girl for the books) has her own strong opinions on the importance of names, which she discusses  in volume one of the series.
