February the 12th

The pictures posted atop today's entry, February the 12th of 2016 are in honor of Charles Schultz who lived on this earth between the years 11/26/1922—2/12/2000, but, to this day, lives on in the hearts and minds of countless people.
As you may know, in bygone years, I’ve written about Schultz and his characters here on Blogger. In any event, the characters that Schultz created in his comic strip “Peanuts” have brought such joy as well as tears to all who have encountered them through the comic strip itself, as well as television specials, and even at The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade.
The pictures included with this Blogger entry are of some details of a couple of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade  balloons that were inspired by Schultz’s characters. The images were shot in this manner to give you a sense, dear reader, of just how gigantic those balloons are!
In Cam’s ePub (on Amazon) version of her book, “Words In Our Beak Volume One,” Cam includes many details regarding the various Macy’s balloons. She even states the history behind a given balloon’s parade appearance in The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade!
Cam became very interested in the Macy’s balloons when her avian friends got side-swiped by them as the balloons made their way along the parade’s route. The accidents of balloons running into tree tops were the motivating factor re Cam wanting to include them in the ePub version of her book. She even talked me into sharing the photos of various Macy’s Thanksgiving balloons to accompany her narrative! I am glad I had the opportunity to do this for her, especially since she has brought such joy to my life, much in the same way Shultz’s characters have done for others. Moreover I’m glad she and I worked so closely together before her disappearance in early November. I do fear she has died as I stated in an entry on Fb. Now I’ve made a vow to myself to put together her notes and complete the sequels for her.
Cam is an adorable and prolific cardinal. Her stories are sure to touch hears as well as minds, like Schultz’s did. I’m thankful to carry out her legacy but I hope I’m up to the task!
Be that as it may, while we pay homage to the death of Charles Schultz's death, we remember it is the birthdate of Abraham Lincoln, I wrote an entry about this back in 2012!
On this day of February 12th, it is good to remember the anniversaries of those who were born and those who have passed. However, it is also a good day to prepare to celebrate our friends, for Friendship Day is only two days away! The two whimsical characters pictured below are excellent reminders of this!

Here's what they have to say about the upcoming holiday: In two days on February the 14th, a holiday known as Ystävänpäivä in Finland, and as Sõbrapäev in Estonia will be celebrated. Ystävänpäivä and Sõbrapäev coincide with Valentine's Day, which traditionally commemorates the celebration between loved ones.Ystävänpäivä and Sõbrapäev, however, are about remembering friends, which is always a lovely thing to do. And the time to think about how you might do this is now.
These two whimsical figurines featured with this post are not only a part of the entourage of characters who have been visiting me during this pre-Valentine time, but they are very close friends.
And since their time here is winding down, they wanted to express that they agree with what the other whimsical characters have been saying regarding gift giving at this time, and to reiterate to those who will be celebrating friendship on the fourteenth; giving the gift of Cam (via her book) is the perfect choice!
The idea of giving the gift of Cam was first brought up by other whimsical characters that are a part of the pre-Valentine entourage: a pair of love birds who love birds!

And there you have it, dear reader, a few things to know about February 12th!
